This scripture is a promise for saved Christians and believers, those who put their trust in Jesus.
Paul reminds us that in order to love God, we have to live for Christ. Each of us are called to fulfill
God’s purpose whether we accept it or not. Therefore, we cannot reject God and we should not
die without Christ, for then we will not inherit the promise.

What is the promise? If we are saved, all things—without a doubt―work together for good. Every
circumstance we may encounter is to be understood that in light of God performing works in the world,
it is He who causes all things to work together. Good is not a guarantee of happiness. Yet, our God
works in and through us to achieve an ultimate good that serves His purpose.
